All employees covered under the AFSCME Local 199 Contract with Miami-Dade County are eligible to vote on the ratification of our 2020 contract.

Below is the latest on AFSCME Local 199 Contract Negotiations. We are set for a ratification vote on Friday, January 17 from 8AM to 6PM.

Miami-Dade County Public Employees turned out in droves on Friday to approve a historic contract that grants County workers increased worker protections, a 2 percent cost of living increase (implemented retroactive), and additional supplements to benefit employees. In total, a record setting 2,325 County employees voted in the January 17 ratification. Of those, 2316 voted 'YES.'

Thursday evening, a unique school bus started rolling around the streets of South Florida, and AFSCME members helped make it possible!

The Mobile School Pantry will hit the roads to visit area schools and distribute food to children and families in need. The bus is making a real impact by helping students to be able to concentrate on their school work instead of their hunger.
